Feast Your Eyes: The Ultimate Austin, Texas Bar & Restaurant Guide for Women

Birthday Party Ideas for Adults That Aren’t Just Drinking

Birthday Party Ideas for Adults That Aren’t Just Drinking

Looking for a twist on the usual adult birthday celebrations in Austin that goes beyond the typical bar scene?

Whether you’re planning for yourself, a friend, or a loved one, Austin, Texas, is ripe with opportunities to make that special day unforgettable without relying solely on libations.

From outdoor adventures that take advantage of Austin’s natural beauty to cultural experiences that immerse you in the city’s vibrant arts scene, there’s something for everyone.

Let’s get the party started!

1. Custom Rugs! @ Fuzz Lab (West Campus)

  • ~$75 per person, for a small custom rug.
  • They send you a pinterest board for inspo, and then you send them your designs. You do a short class with an instructor, and the whole process took us (5 people) around 3 & 1/2 hours.

2. Pizza School! @ Desano Pizza (Burnet)

  • $75 Adult Pizza Students Ages 12+ • Includes take-home apron!
$50 Children Pizza Students Ages 11 and under, must be attended by parent.
  • Picture this: a party where you and your friends become pizza chefs for the day. 🍕
Kick things off with tasty Italian salads and meatballs before diving into the main event: crafting your very own pizza.
For dessert, indulge in a dreamy stuffed Nutella pizza.
Drinks? Soft drinks are included, and Italian beers and wines are available for purchase.
This experience is perfect for groups of 5 to 10, cozy enough for an intimate gathering yet lively enough for a small party. All you need to bring is yourself; they’ve got everything else covered. Should be 90 minutes altogether.
  • (Don’t forget to tip the wonderful staff helping you out.)

3. Be in a Game Show! @ Game On (North Austin)

  • Legally, they probably can’t say that one room looks more like Wheel of Fortune and one looks more like Price is Right – but I can!
  • Picture this: you and your crew, diving into custom-built sets with an insanely lively host at the helm, battling it out in various games for about an hour. It’s legit like stepping into your TV screen!
They’re all about the adult fun, but if you’ve got some younger teammates in mind, a quick chat with them beforehand sorts everything out. The cool part? The content ranges from PG all the way to X-rated, so you pick the party’s flavor.
    • Duration depends on your squad size:
Smaller groups (6-14) play for about an hour, but give it 90 minutes door-to-door.
Bigger parties (15-36 or 37-44) extend the fun to 1.5 or 2.5 hours of game time, respectively, stretching the whole experience a bit longer.
  • And the cherry on top? Games and questions change every time, so it’s always a fresh thrill. Perfect excuse to make this a yearly ritual, right?

4. RAAAAAAAGE! @ The Breaking Point (Anderson Mill)

  • Starting at $25/person
  • It’s not just fun; it’s a unique way to celebrate another year by literally breaking away from the past!
  • With LED lights flashing, your favorite tracks blasting through a Bluetooth speaker, and a room full of stuff just begging to be destroyed, it’s an unforgettable experience.
  • Plus, you can dial up the excitement with add-ons like printers and washers for that extra thrill.
  • It’s therapeutic, it’s exhilarating, and let’s be honest, where else can you play bottle baseball with actual bottles? Trust me, it’ll be the talk of your crew for years to come!

When planning your next birthday bash, consider these creative alternatives to ensure your celebration is truly unforgettable.
